‘The Female Shape?’
Super sexy clothing is often tight-fitting, exposing the female body down to the minutest detail. Or is there an alternative? The collection addresses the objectification of the female body and shows that clothes can be loose-fitting and still pay homage to female sexuality. The Japanese design tradition has inspired me to experiment with alternative ways of working with body and sexuality, incorporating elements such as movement, transparency and layer-on-layer techniques both in print and form in order to create curiosity in the viewer about the body that is hidden underneath the clothes.
